There a various objects in the Pitt, like engine blocks, broken tvs and fire hydrants that have stashes of supplies in them.
Wow, the Pitt is my fav FO3 DLC. I it got on my 360 the day it dropped and I had no idea! Or maybe I did back then but forgot?
This is one new players might not know...
After your birthday party, the Overseer will walk out into the hallway and up the stairs. He stops to chat with Officer Kendall telling him he only went to the party because 'Amata is friends with the little brat'. He then tells Officer Kendall to wait a few minutes then shut the party down and clean it up.( Officer Kendall then walks down to the party and walks around. I don't think actually shuts it down though )
But wait! There's more....
The Overseer will then open the door Kendall was guarding and walk through, leaving it open. The door leads into 'void' ( the empty space surrounding the game world ).
You can follow; jump down and you'll land on top of the hallway you where just in, before heading up the stairs. If you turn to your left and run around the door sticking up there, you can make your way back to the area near your quarters(may require dropping down a second time?). There is spot near your quarters where you can fall through the roof you're standing on and land safely on the floor.
From here, you'll notice that sirens are flashing and the rad roachs are out - you just skipped forward in time! However, you're still 10 and can't fight back. Also, several NPCs are absent(running back into your room may force start some scripts, making them appear, but I didn't try). Runaway and continue moving forward and head into the Atrium. If you have Brisa installed, sadly, she won't be there. If you have TiesThatBinds however, Amanda will be locked up as usual. Wait for her to free herself then continue onwards. She will fight the radroachs for you.
When you get to the Overseer's office door, do a 180 and head into the Amata's room on your left. You'll find some Bobby pins in her dresser. Use them to pick the lock on the Overseer's door. From here you can activate the Overseer's tunnel and try to escape the Vault as a kid.... Only to be stopped dead in your tracks the next area.
When try to activate the switch that open the 'hidden door' leading into the Vault 101 main entrance area, you will receive a message in the corner of the screen informing you that 'Kids can't use that!'
( Edit: I just woke up and loaded up TTW. I loaded my auto save managed to get out of the Vault as a Kid using the console to activate the switch's and the Vault door. After the kidnap scene in TTB, I'm suddenly able to equip weapons and fight normally, haha! )
I don't *think* this is solely a PC / TTW glitch as I'm almost positive this is possible on the Xbox 360 version as well. I swear I remember doing it back in the day, but I'm *not* 100% positive.... It may just the Mandela effect, lol. I might dust off my Xbox 360 this weekend and confirm if it is indeed possible there too....
