I recently adquired the Fallout 3. And it didn`t work by himself. So I decided to use this tool... But I I installed the full version but the game crash. And when I try to use the updates says that I`m missing the Textures 2.bsa but in Fallout 3 I have only one Texture, how to proceed?

There is no texture 2 bsa. Something else is going wrong... perhaps due to FO3 not working in the first place. If FO3 doesn't work, it's possibly not installed correctly, and therefore won't work correctly with the installer. Get FO3 and FONV both working, then install TTW.

Have you run the launcher and set the options? That makes registry entries and ini files for the game that are needed.

Re: file size

Would running all replacers under a double max compression (4x4, >512, and force burned mip maps on the second run) through ordinator improve fps if I'm running small textures anyway? If I'm running mipmapskip 7?

I'm at 896x504 on a two core i5 with intel (available video memory=64, but with 8gig ram and 6.12gigs of virtual memory).

Currently getting 30+ fps inside megaton and 16-22 fps outside. Most tweaks already have been incorporated ex. No shadows, no grass, no sun, etc. In game settings have objects, people and items at two notches, everything else at 0.

If you're getting FPS that low you shouldn't be using this texture pack in the first place. Running it through Ordinator wouldn't do anything but make it look worse.

It may be more efficient to compress these because I would not have to extract BSAs and manually determine what textures should not be touched. Or are you saying compressing textures is completely moot when running on Small?

That's an interesting thought... does downsizing NMC to smaller than the regular textures result in better looking textures than downsizing the regular textures? You might try it and see. The only issue with speed I see is that NMC doesn't replace ALL the textures, so you're leaving a butt-load of textures at normal by not downsizing the regular textures. When I used an AMD APU, I regularly downsized the textures for FO3/FONV/Skyrim. It doesn't affect the speed much, what it does is lower the memory requirements for textures, making for less stutter on cell crossings, and put off how long you can play before textures start disappearing (common when vram is low). Using ENB for video memory handling is recommended (by me) for cases when you have little vram, or shared vram.

In any case, don't think the making the textures half the size will make the rendering twice as fast. It doesn't work that way. Any speed increase will be more due to not having to move around larger textures as vram fills. It affects stability more than speed.

Another problem with running everything through Ordenador is that it breaks some normals and is generally not recommended by anyone I know. It's a tool that should be avoided.

Personally I think if you're struggling with performance that much you should just use the Bethesda textures. The last thing you need to do is give the game engine more to do with texture packs.

Dammit, I did just that with my current Skyrim setup. I selected "reburn forced" for Mipmaps and ran every single texture through it: both vanilla and from mods.

Any other tool you would recommend for resizing and optimizing beth textures?
