Creating a bashed patch for TTW

Post by poopoopapa » Wed Nov 28, 2012 3:30 pm

I have successfully recreated the bash tags and settings from fallout3's BOSS masterlist using brute force.

Instructions:

-Download fallout3's BOSS masterlist from the BOSS program.

-Open Wrye Bash/Flash whatever it's called ;p

-Find the name of the mod you wish to adjust the tags for and search for it in the Fallout 3 Masterlist.

-Set tags accordingly.

-Rinse and repeat for each mod.

This is somewhat painstaking, but it allows for a full bashed patch with mergeable and deactivatable mods.  No crashes and requested records are changed according to tags.  In other words this works 100% as far as I can tell.

I myself have only used the wyre programs as a means of checking load orders, creating bashed patches and merging list. Can you explain what I would be looking for when I adjust the tags? Is there a way to what tags you want?

Your best bet is to follow my directions per mod.  Otherwise, you can review the tag definitions in the wrye bash Readme/FAQ.

This still leaves me with an error in Wrye Bash when I try to create a Bashed Patch.

"Loading: 0003135B..DoNotCreateNewIngredientsWeArentUsingThemInFallout..INGR.OBND..12..

Error in Fallout3.esm"

That leaves Fallout3.esm out of the patch, and causes a CTD in the opening slides, since files that rely on Fallout3.esm are in the patch.

(Edit: Going to try not bashing in anything that does call on Fallout3.esm, just to see if it at least fixes the CTD, which is a seperate issue from the main Fallout3.esm error, at least for me.)

(Edit 2: No luck there. I've got a couple of mods that mess with leveled lists, so this is a bit of a problem.)
