truancyfactory is a well-traveled to destination for first time world creators. Also explains LOD in greater detail than on the GECK wiki.

Great post; I believe a section dedicated to working with Nifskope is in order. I'll try and find some tutorials for working with it and doing general things.

Well, this is a big start:

These could also be helpful, I've packed up as many of the LOD files as I could fined in both game and even converted the texture to TGA and placed them in there appropriate Source\TGA Textures file path for easy use.

LOD Generation pack FO3

LOD Generation Pack FNV

hmm. i was actually thinking this could be a more top-level, generic kind of thing. maybe we should have some more threads with links to specific types of tutorials, and links to those threads in this one. what do ya'll think?

Post by plumjuice » Fri Oct 18, 2013 9:22 pm

Is there a character limit on posts? If not, keep it in the same thread and just break it up into sections; "The Basics" "The Next Steps" "Intricately detailed guides for Reality Altering Masters" etc. No point in splitting it up; the required skill difference isn't that big, its not like theres gonna be a "How to Build a Better GECK from Scratch" tutorial.

Great thread though. 10/10.

There's also my updates to the Notepad++ Syntax Highlighting and autocomplete. I have it updated to take advantage of the most recent N++ versions, as well as functions that aren't documented anywhere. It also has global variables from Fo3 and FNV included. link

There's also my NVSE functions page, updated with all NVSE functions (that I know how they're used) as well as more useful information than the old doc has. link

There is not any character limit on posts, no.  cool

Also, most of these links are also in the FAQ, which is typically of the most-visited pages on the site, usually #3, after the home page and the alpha download page.

If you guys ever want to write new sections for the FAQ, just send me a PM with the content or a link to the content (no plagiarism obviously). cheeky

@Thermador. thanks for correcting me about the post length thing. i guess i was thinking of some other forum i post on.  personally, i haven't looked at the FAQ page in forever, and didn't remember that some of this stuff was there.

@Gribbles. i was hoping you would chime in with a link to your N++ lang plugin. i couldn't find it in my bookmarks, when i was looking for it earlier. i was also wondering if it could be adapted and/or uploaded to pastebin as a selectable language/format option?
