Someone comfortable with making custom DDS files.

I'm currently working on a mod to be used with TTW, and want to try create some .DDS icons for it.

Basically I gave up converted More perks, and am making my own mod. The first release will add new traits, but I need someone comfortably with making custom DDS icons. Otherwise, if anyone knows a good tutorial on it and can point me in that direction, it would be most appreciated.
