TTW - Music For DLC

Post by FiftyTifty » Wed Dec 05, 2018 7:46 pm

As I was playing The Pitt, I noticed that there was no music playing in most of the areas. Turns out that there are no Audio Markers placed in them, so all you here are ambient sound effects. I went and added a few audio markers, with appropriate music being played.

Currently, this just affects The Pitt. If there are other DLC areas with no music, post and I'll take a look at them.

Nyeeeh, there's nowhere near enough variance in the ambient sounds to make that work. The creepy music from the original Fallouts fit it pretty well.

Yep there's not supposed to be any music in The Pitt, so I didn't put any.

While there isn't real music in The Pitt, there are actually sound samples playing in the background.

ThePitt - Sounds.bsa includes the samples.
Fallout 3\Data\ThePitt - Sounds.bsa\sound\fx\amb\~regions\pitt\metalcreaking > a and b folder

I didn't play Pitt yet so I can't tell if the samples are actually playing there or not but I indeed remember that older TTW versions missed this "music".
Not sure anymore if there are cells where other music plays... Was ages ago I played vanilla FO3 the last time.

I appreciate this, thank you. Being in a detailed place with very few ambient sounds and no music usually screams, 'unfinished mod' to me -- even if it's vanilla behavior sometimes.
