More cooking recipe to use more CW items

Post by Laclongquan » Wed May 26, 2021 9:53 am

Currently in my packrat game, I have a lot of unused
  • molerat (buy its dishes),
    mirelurk (also buy),
softshell and hatchling mirelurk meat (because eat it raw is icky)
maize (because wasteland hotdog use mutfruit),
glowing mushroom (too many despite heavy usage)
bloatfly and ant meats (because can buy cheaply from vendor)
brain fungus (purely because Point Look out)
    and brahmin meats .
Two kind of punga fruits, even without visiting PLO
2nd look with Mojave in equationShow
Molerat has stew, and brahmin meat has too many mojave recipe. So overall they can be stored to use in Mojave. Not surplus.
Maize still dont have that many recipe using them, and Mojave supply is even bigger than Capital, so overall big surplus.
Bloatfly slider is very good use for that meat, so no surplus.
So I'd like a few more complex recipes into next TTW version to use more of them in CW instead of waiting until Mojave's more plentiful environment.
  • Flour = Maize
2 Ant Pie (inspired from Vietnamese dish) = 2 Ant meat + maize + potato + 2 glowing mushrooms
Mirelurk Stew = Mirelurk + Purified water + glowing mushrooms + tin can (for spice?)
Bloatfly Slider = bloatfly meat + glowing mushrooms + dirty water + tin can (for spice?) (CW version of mojave one)
Brahmin roll = brahmin + glowing mushrooms + purified water + tin can (for spice?) (like, you use a slice of meat and roll around mushrooms and spice, put into the tin and steamed)
So any cooking fanatics here?

(Yes, I visit every eateries to buy food as well. I would never be able to eat them empty of my inventory)

CONDITIONS: To realize the effect of food you gotta push up hardcore effect. I double the speed of H2O, Food, and sleep, so that I have to eat more often. If you play hardcore normally, or even with sawyer in FNV, you would not feel that pressed. Ideally, after Well-Rested bonus end (8 hour), you would feel sleepy. Hunger and Thirst would change to have same speed as rest.

Also, I did use TTW Farms Capital Wasteland mod which allow for a harvest of maize and mutfruits from fields around towns. BUT the amount is not that high. I estimate a half of my Maize stock come from that. Mutfruit? What stock? Never a one left~

You've gotten some actually decent analysis of real-world (well, real-in-game) statistics of food usage rates and recipes and stuff. You should make a recipe/food addon mod :)

In the Capital Wasteland, there's a machine that will allow you to make Molerat Wonder Meat, using molerat meat and wonderglue.

I know this doesn't really help with the rest, but at least it can help with the molerat meat usage.

Someone should change that wonder meat maker so it opens a new recipe category, and wonder-meat varieties for all the meats :)

That does sound awesome. Makes it so it's worth to find it. :D

MiniHideout has that one.

PROBLEM is: wonder glue has too much use (repair kit) to make wonder meat. I made one or three but then I run out of glue~

On a separate note: ABSOLUTE FULL of two kind of punga fruits.

These two Point Lookout exports are found in eateries everywhere. You could buy hundred of them without trying. Let alone Rivet City Hydroponics provide 3-4 piece each type everytime it respawn.

Since there's a comparative rarity of Rum & Nuka (it's not guaranteed to find more than 2 each trip you fast travel to bars around the CW), I'd like a homemade version of Rum & Nuka inspired by Maguerite in Point Lookout, and Cass Moonshine

Batch of Punga Margarita (survival 75)

3 Punga Margarita bottle (basically effect of a Rum Nuka)=
  • 10 Refined Punga Fruit (like, you make two types with slightly different taste/aroma then mix it)
    20 Wild Punga Fruit,
    3 sacks of Yeast,
    9 Purified Water
    3 Fission Batteries.
That would be an expensive item one normally dont bother with it until one run out of Rum Nuka. Yeast would require Tobar/Nadine sell it. Basically you just need to bring Fission batteries to the Landing and you can buy enough to make it right there.

Survival 75 to make this a little bit harder to access. Just get to 55 Survival and a Lad Life mag should be at least level 5+.

EDIT: and run through Point LookOut will net you hundreds of wild punga.

Sushi and Mirelurk, getting the idea from Nukalurk sushi

Because I gather a boatload of mirelurk meat of any variant. Mirelurk dishes are not made but bought in enough quantities (and consumed regularly). So raw meats are there~

1 Lurking Sushi
+ 1 unit of any type of mirelurk species, from hatchling to softshell to normal but not nukalurk. AND YES to lakelurk species (for later onto Mojave)

OBVIOUSLY the spicy dressing are not going to be enough so we can only eat sushi without~

We only need to introduce a new aid item, Lurking Sushi, and maybe 4-5 recipes more. And the absolute amount of normal Lurking sushi would illustrate the rare and quality of Nukalurk sushi.
